I MISS THE SAVANNA
When I was a kid I used to wonder what it would be like to live at the dawn of Mankind. Back when fire was first used. I remember trying to imagine how it would be living off the land and following the herds. I can remember being fascinated by the thought of those ancient People, so differn't from Us, so seperated from Us by time. how hard their lives were We can only imagine. I also thought about how much the same as Us They might have been. Lately I've been thinking these same thoughts. although now from the perspective of a sixty year old Man, instead of that of a ten year old Boy. For a couple of hundred thousand years Our species managed to live more or less in a symbiotic relationship with Our world, Then somewhere around ten to twenty thousand years ago things changed, With the advent of agriculture, cities arose, beliefs were organized and capitalism was born into an unsuspecting world. Born tiny and bearing slight resemblance to the monster of today. It began I believe with the emergence of the merchants and developed from there. What happened to Us so long ago that made Us what We are today?
